Invigilator, International Foundations Program, Werklund School of Education

Position Overview

The International Foundations Program in the Werklund School of Education is currently seeking part-time hourly Invigilators.

The International Foundations Program (IFP) within the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary, requires INVIGILATORS to supervise students writing INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS) exams. Necessary training will be provided.

 

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Following the standards set by the test centre and IDP for IELTS tests
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security
  • Responsibility for test room set-up, security and administration of test materials
  • Administering tests according to a strict timeline and set of procedures
  • Reading and understanding the invigilator script

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Ability to follow detailed directions exactly is required
  • Proven ability to make quick decisions based on defined policies and procedures
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English required
  • Must work effectively with a diverse population, within a high-pressured environment where multi-tasking is often required

Number of Hours/Week (est):                    5/6 hours per scheduled examination date dependent upon need per examination schedule
Hourly Rate:                                                   $15.00/hr
 

All Invigilators will be required to sign the IELTS Confidentiality Undertaking and sign and abide by the IELTS Code of Practice for Invigilators.
The Invigilator positions are non-union (Reader/Demonstrator) positions.
